There a few new aspect to the Giant 2W Enduro Series, this guide is for both new and current rider.
Our courses are all inclusive with water points, feed zones, medical and shuttles/uplifts (Shuttles excluded event 3) are standard as part of your entry into the 2W.
This season riders will follow a fully marked route including untimed liaison routes and timed race stages. At each event, the course will contain a variation of long endurance, flow and technical stages throughout the duration of the route. Course features such as step drops, gap jump etc will be fully marked with alternative “b lines" where possible.
The overall distance of each race will be:

There will be a minimum of 1 shuttle uplift included in each race excluding event 3 of the series.

Course Release
The course will be released to participants that are registered Rotorua Mountain Bike Club members at 7pm on the Thursday of race week and the remaining riders at 9am on the Friday of race week.
Course Practice.
Un-marshalled practice is only permitted between 12pm and 5pm on the Friday of race week.
At any time during race week, if a current participant is found riding marked 2W stage outside of the practice window they will be disqualified with no exception even if the course has not been officially released. A marked stage is identifiable by a 2W branded start gate at the trail head.
In the event that the practice window is in wet weather, practice will be cancelled and the stage closed to participants of the current 2W race. Practice cancellation will be communicated via email and social media channels. If a current participant is found riding a marked 2W stage during a cancelled practice window they will be disqualified with no exception even if the course has not been officially released. The onus is on the participant to stay informed during wet weather practices.
This is very important to note as part of the events trail sustainability policy and will be fully enforced.
Race Runs.
There are no re runs of a stage, so your first attempt at a stage is the one that will be recorded by timing.

Riders will start in groups of 25-30 riders and complete the course in order following the fully marked route including untimed liaison routes and timed race stages. Riders will not be asked to start a race stage at a specific time however there will be a deadline on when they must start that stage. Riders can select their own start groups are selected during online registration.

Our timing and results are supplied by New Zealand's number 1 sport timing company, Sportsplits. The event will use prochip digital timing which will provide realtime live timing and results during the race. |
At each event there will be age group podium awards for the top 3 men and women being awarded medals asfollows, age is calculated on how old the rider will be on the 20th of April 2024.

NOTE: A youth rider in the 4 stage event aged 10-12 years must have an accompanying adult rider chaperoning that young rider. A youth rider aged 13-14 years has the option to have an accompanying adult rider chaperoning them, this adult rider will not feature in the results or be given a stage time. There is an additional cost of $30 per event for the adult rider which covers their consumables in the event such as shuttle, medical, feedzone etc. This is not available for any other distance.

The series championship is contested over three events in the 6 stage format. This a combination of the 2 regular rounds and the 2W Pro race. The championship is awarded to the top over 3 male and female non ebike riders regardless of their age category.
