Handicap System

PowerGlide have come on board as a Giant 2W Gravity Enduro event supporter and helped developed and introduce a handicap system to encourage riders who don’t have a realistic chance of taking a line honors podium position, but would like to be recognised for the improvement they have made from the previous event.

In short this is how it works…
If you completed in the Four or Six Stage event category at the previous Rotorua Giant 2W Gravity Enduro even and completed all 4 or 6 timed special Race Stages respectively, you will be given a handicap rating based on how far behind the overall male or female event category winner you finished. Provided you compete in the same event category at the next Rotorua event, your total finish time (including any time penalties) will be multiplied by your handicap rating, and this will give you your “corrected time” result. If you have improved your time relative to the other male or female riders in the event category, but still finish behind a fellow competitor, you could still beat them on corrected time if your improvement based on the last event result was greater than theirs.

Silver event sponsor POC have contributed some awesome product and will also be presenting the ‘Most Improved Rider’s Prizes’ to recognise the male and female winners on handicap who compete in the Six Stage event category. And founder of the NZ Mtb Crown, Kashi Leuchs has contributed some great product to recognise the most improved male and female who compete in the Four Stage event category.

Riders new handicap ratings they will carry forward to the next event will be posted on the ‘Results’ page following each Giant 2W Gravity Enduro.
